Volunteering

We helped our members find volunteer roles in local organisations such as charity shops and community supermarkets, parks and gardening projects, cafes and coffee mornings, community centres, animal sanctuaries and hospices. People also helped with admin tasks in our office and for other local charities. We also ran courses on how to be a good volunteer.

There were a range of volunteer roles available to people with and without a learning disability. We needed volunteers to help us with our.

Social Clubs which included Lunch Club, Health Club, Crossbow Club and the Walk and Talk Group.

Courses. We were always looking for people to deliver or support the delivery of courses. Examples included reading and writing, numbers and money, IT, floristry, arts and crafts, BSL, first aid and DIY.

Fundraising which included helping with collections, community events and sponsored challenges.

Buddying. Buddies helped our members access activities and volunteering opportunities in the local area.
